In class we read a short poem called "Be Drunk" by Charles Baudelaire. The title of the poem does not directly associate with being drunk on alcoholic beverages, it simply means that people should be over consumed by something in their life or else their life has no purpose. I agree with this point of view because if you are not in love with something about your life, you live without purpose. I believe I am drunk on making music and music in general. I love making music, specifically electronic music such as progressive house. I spend a whole lot of my free time doing this. I strive to be a full time music producer and make it to the big leagues such as EDC and Ultra Music Festival. For the music itself part, I am absolutely drunk on music. I can't go 5 minutes without listening to something. I love finding new music and music I have completely forgotten about. I love listening to new music and discovering different genres and different types of music. My favorite right now is electro house and progressive house. I find new music every day because there is so much progressive out there, on websites such as Youtube and Soundcloud.
So as to Charles claims of it being important to "Be Drunk" I completely agree with him. Like I said before, if you are not drunk on something, and haven't committed your life to something, you will go on searching for something to have your time all wrapped up in, and you won't find it, you will search for ever and slowly lose yourself along the way. I agree with Charles.
